CQMS at Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India was established in 1994 with primary objective of propagating awareness, providing expertise and doing research on quality, environment, energy and safety management systems applicable in industries and institutes. Since 1994, The Centre for Quality Management System has been working relentlessly to serve the nation through developing and adopting technologies and methodologies for better performance of management systems in manufacturing and service sectors, through conducting research works, organizing workshops and seminars/ symposiums on different related topics, adding newer dimensions in waste management, conducting specialized courses and organizing meets and congresses of national and international level. CQMS has remarkable work in the areas of 1) researches on waste plastics, e-waste & MSW Recycling, 2) total quality management, 3) consultancy and 4) quality & food safety of packaged drinking water 5) instituting Indian Congress on quality, environment, energy and safety management systems (ICQESMS), 6) Supply chain management, 7) Entrepreneurship development, 8) Training of executives and working groups, 9) ISO 900, ISO 14000, OHSMA, HACCP, ISO 22000, CRM, SIX SIGMA and many others.
