ACHIEVEMENTS OF CQMS

• The TQM Team “ DISHA” of Burdwan Zone formed with the guidance of CQMS at WBSEB rated the first out of total 60 quality circles in Corporate Competition held on 09.09.2005.

• Conducted series of in-house training on SPC at Gun & Shell Factory, OFB, Cossipore.

• Conducted series of training on TQM, SCM, Safety Management, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, CRM, HACCP ETC.

• Organized National Symposium & Workshop on Plastics Waste Management with other organizations in December 2004. This was the first initiative in the country that mobilizes 80 Plastics Recycling Industries & Others. 230 delegates from CPCB, ICPE, PIF, IPF, FOSMI, WBPCB, C&SSI, WBSIDC, Bankers, Municipalities, CIPET, IPI, M E Department, JU and many other industry & individual participated.

• The newly developed Pilot Plant ‘Green Recycling Process Plant of Waste Plastics Recycling’ was invented. Sri. Manab Mukherjee, Honb’le MIC, Dept. of Environmental & IT, Govt. of West Bengal inaugurated the operation of the machine as well as the programme on 15.12.2004.

• Organized the unorganised Plastics Recycling Sector in India, helped in Forming FIPRI (Federation of Indian Plastics Recycling Industries).

• Has instituted and has been successfully organizing Indian Congress on Quality, Environment, Energy and Safety Management (ICQESMS), a very important event in the country in the related issues, since 2002. • Working with target oriented programmes on E - waste Management starting from awareness creation to working out definite principles and methodologies for handling.

• Organized quality circle convention several times.

• Provided consultancy to, 1) Falta Export Processing Zone, Ministry Of Commerce & Industry, for Quality assessment form design to commissioning stage, 2) Vendor quality assessment OF WBDDC, 3) Failure analysis of turbine in Ranganadi Hydro Electric Project (RHEP) of NEEPCO Ltd., 4) Quality assessment of soil of NEEPCO, 5) Making employees to adopt Total Quality Management in WBSEB.

• Providing technical assistance to ENTREPRENEURS install the newly developed pollution control device “ CQMSJU-PCTD-GRPPWP MODULE II” for waste plastics recycling units with the help of WBPCB. 50% of the total cost of the device will be given as aid to the unit. This step taken by the WBPCB is the first in the country for waste plastics recycling units.

• Developed the first training module held in Kolkata in April 2005 with CBWE, Ministry of Labour & Employment for the waste plastics recycling workers.

• Launched a programme – Employment through research & development. CQMS has organized Workshop fore setting SSI with Green Recycling Process of Waste Plastics in February & April 2005 for the entrepreneurs. C&SSI, WBSIDC, Bankers participated to help the entrepreneurs. . Click here for details.

• Instituted the concept & slogan “ Save Environment & Survive With Plastics”.

• Created remarkable awareness on the quality & food safety of packaged drinking water through the results of research work published in 2003 in the country. Recommended the review of the packaged drinking water rule.

• Training impact evaluation of the training imparted by Central Board for Workers Education, MOL&E, GOI.

• Rendered Services for Quality Auditing of Machineries for projects under Government of India.

• CQMS initiated “ Foundation for waste recycling in the environment” in 2005.

• In 2005 CQMS & CPCB produced a documentary film of 24 minutes “ SOBUJ SANKET” on Plastics Wastes, its problems, solution & future direction in Bengali, with dubbing in Hindi & English.
